The Shedd’s began their ministry here among us on July 9th, 2017. They are passionate about influencing the next generation. During these seven years together the Lord has blessed them with 4 daughters. Together they actively work to advance the gospel in the local community. Calvary, had been without a pastor for several years before they arrived, and much of their time has been devoted to rebuilding a Christ-centered team, focused on advancing the glorious gospel of Christ.
Our church spends a great deal of time investing in one on one discipleship. This is a six month program for thirsty believers. Pastor and Virginia devote a great deal of time behind the scenes to this ministry, with a goal of training future leaders. You will find that our church is not about the lights and a show, but instead we are very serious about edifying the mature Christians, and training the future generation. Pastor firmly believes that all the answers to life are found in God’s Word. It is our hope!
Pastor grew up in Maine, and having trusted Christ at age 13, he surrendered to the ministry. He and Virginia both went to West Coast Baptist College in Lancaster, CA where they each earned a bachelors degree and returned to complete their masters degree before going on staff at a local church. They taught in a Christian school in Baltimore for 2 years and volunteered their free time to building a Hispanic Ministry, and developing the music ministry at their church. God was stirring their hearts for a greater opportunity and they answered the call to leave their family and friends and by faith they moved here trusting God to use them to lead souls to Christ. God has done exactly that, and the church family today is in a great part formed by first generation Christians, who have trusted Christ during this season of ministry.
In their free time; Pastor enjoys home renovations, woodworking, and hobby farming. Virginia enjoys teaching and playing the piano, baking, and homesteading.
God is working here at Calvary and we are very excited about what He is doing. We believe that God uses his word to change our lives! Calvary is a great place for families, singles, and seniors. Come and grow together!
Our pastor is bold in his declaration of the word of God. He preaches with conviction and passion. He is actively in the community seeking to fulfill the biblical purpose of the church.
